Dr. Kate Holt

Kate Holt, PsyD, is a post-doctoral resident in clinical psychology. She obtained her bachelor's degree from the University of Colorado at Boulder, and her master's and doctoral degrees from the University of Denver. Dr. Holt completed her pre-doctoral American Psychological Association (APA) accredited internship training at Regional Mental Health Center in northern Indiana.

Dr. Holt has a breadth of experience treating adults, children and families with a variety of presenting concerns. She has background in the treatment of trauma, autism spectrum disorders, mood disorders such as depression and anxiety, and substance abuse. In addition, she specializes in the use of psychological assessment to identify learning difficulties, intellectual capability, personality structure, and behavioral patterns.

Dr. Holt uses an integrative therapeutic approach, tailoring treatment to best fit the needs and values of every individual. She believes that therapy should be a meaningful and life-changing process for the individual, and much of her work incorporates the use of mindfulness techniques stemming from her training in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). A mindfulness-based approach to treatment focuses on altering the individual's sense of suffering in service of increasing vitality, purpose, and connection to the world.
